Located in Cape Girardeau
The cemetery is named for Louis Lorimier, the founder of Cape Girardeau. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in the state, with burials dating back to 1793. There are over 1200 Civil War soldiers buried here. Some of them died at the Minton House, which was used as the smallpox hospital. There is a legend of a tunnel between the two sites. Rumors of it being haunted have persisted over the years. Rumors of ghosts have been associated here.
