Haden House

Columbia, Mo

Born in 1811, Joel Haden built the first home on the site in 1831. That structure burned sometime between 1898 and 1905 and was rebuilt on the same foundation and with the same design. The house is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Sarah Haden. Sarah lived in the home with her husband Joel and their daughter. Sarah died at a young age of typhoid some time in the mid 1830’s. In 1974 the house was converted into a restaurant. In 1984 it became Jack’s Gourmet Restaurant and in 1998 it became Peppers Nightclub.

There have been reports of the appearance of an apparition of a woman and employees of the restaurant have reported dishes being broken, objects being moved, and strange electrical problems. French doors would rattle, and chairs would slide out from under a table without anyone doing anything, cups and saucers fly off the china cabinet and across the room but they never broke. Employees say they saw physical objects that resembled ghosts, and it is suspected they remain in the house today. Former owners believe the ghosts haven’t been as fond of other owners and have had a role in other business attempts failing there.

Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at
a fair price? Cheers, I appreciate it!
