Haunted Dairy Queen

Ellisville, Mo

The haunting stems from a murder that happened back in 1979, back when Clarkson Road was just a two lane road. A few years after the store was first opened, a female manager named Marge was counting down drawers after hours and after everybody else went home. An intruder reportedly sneaked in the
unlocked back door, slit her neck and left her in the sink to die. Since then, strange things started happening, mostly to the effect of objects being found in different spots than they were left. Nothing has been seen there at night, but if you are the only one in the store at night, you are greeted with a strong unwelcoming feeling, and it’s pretty creepy. One guy who used to work there was opening the store and he swears he kept seeing someone walk past the door to the grill room.

Hunter-Dawson House

New Madrid, Mo

This mansion is listed as a state historic site. Built in 1859 by William Dawson and Amanda Hunter, successful dry goods store owners. William died before the house was completed, but his wife and seven children moved in the mansion in 1860. The ghost of the former owners still roam the house. They have been seen looking out the windows of the mansion. One is said to be a woman with a mad expression on
her face. The head of a black slave woman has been seen in a photo of one of the oil paintings of the owners. The painting is not encased in glass. One of the children died from influenza in the house and it is believed it haunts the room where they died.

Arnold 14 Cinema

Arnold, Mo

Ever since this place was built there was said to be an evil presence by everyone then and now. As the years past the most common things that have been reported are the following: during movies there are sudden bone chilling wind gusts that hit you from nowhere, people have felt an unseen thing touch them all over the movie theater. workers that come in at midnight to clean have seen shadows and ghostly figures traveling in the hallways and auditoriums, and last but not least reflections of bloody and disfigured people in the mirrors in the bathrooms.
