Willow Springs Haunted House

Willow Springs

At this abandoned house just outside of Willow Springs, there can be seen a “shadow man” or a figure of a man with no face. If you get near the house, a cold, harsh wind will roar and shove at you until you back away. Lights can be seen “dancing” between rooms, and at night you can hear the sound of screams and a sound like a chainsaw running while twigs snap and you feel something close around your ankle. You can also smell weird smells such as coffee and oil when the closest neighbors are three miles away. The scariest part is the ghost shadow man, who will stand and stare at you in the windows, pacing the house windows whichever way you’re walking, easily seen during the day.

Cheney Hall

Cape Girardeau, Mo

Located on the campus of South East Missouri State University. It is rumored to be very haunted. The legend goes that around finals time, a girl living on the third floor couldn’t handle the stress and committed suicide in her bathtub. It is said that no matter how hard they scrubbed, the blood would not come out of the tub. Instead of pulling the bathtub out and replacing it, they just built a shelf over it. Now, strange noises are head in that room and the door has a habit of slamming by itself when left open.

Old State House

Arkansas

No one knows who the spirit is that haunts the museum but there are two culprits. One of the suspected haunting figures is John Wilson, the former Speaker of the House and the subject of one of Arkansas’ most famous duels. Some of the details of the duel are obscured, but it was, as many duels were, the result of a political dispute. It is said that Wilson’s ghost has been seen sadly wandering the corridors of the Old State House wearing a frock-coat. Staff members of the building have reported seeing his apparition. Some believe it is Joseph Brooks who lost a Governor’s race and then staged a coup to take over as governor. Even in death he still thinks he’s the rightful governor.
